Shrinking h̄ as a recipe for revealing classical - like contributions in optical potential cross sections

چکیده
A simple recipe for revealing classical-like contributions in optical potential cross sections is proposed. The recipe is based on the fact that the classical-like properties are not expected to depend on the actual value of ¯ h. This allows us to identify the classical-like characteristics of an optical potential cross section by simply repeating the calculation with different values of ¯ h, and observing which properties of the cross section are invariant. This method is applied to the cross sections of a few optical potentials used to describe the recent data of light heavy-ion elastic scattering.

Theoretical Analysis of the Optical Properties of Gold Nanoparticles Using DDA Approximation
This article describes a study, using numerical simulation, of the optical properties of nano particles as a function of their size. Many methods introduced to simulate and calculate the interaction of light and particle, such as Mie analysis, boundary element and finite element methods. The Discrete Dipole Approximation (DDA), wherein a target geometry is modeled as a ...
متن کاملپراکندگی کشسان یونهای N15 توسط C12 درMeV 23
Scattering of 15N ions with the energy of Elab = 23 MeV on the CH2(Au) target is investigated. Elastic scattering of these ions in the angular range of 7°-19° was measured by employing the silicon strip detector, “LEDA”. Using the measured scattering data, deviation of ion beam, number of incident ions on the target and differential cross sections of the 12C(15N, 15N)12C elastic scattering in ...
متن کاملSpin polarization and cross sections of electrons elastically scattered from heavy alkaline-earth atoms
Semi-relativistic approach is employed to compute the differential and integrated cross sections, spin polarization P and the spin polarization parameters T and U for the scattering of electrons from barium and strontium atoms in the energy range from 2.0-300 eV. The projectile-target interaction is represented both by real and complex optical potential in the solution of Dirac equation for the...

This paper examines critically the contributions of Cournot, Jevons and Walras as the founders of classical mathematical economics from a methodological standpoint. Advances in different economic schools and doctrines in the 19th century produced an environment of multi-dimensionality in economic analysis which was regarded by the pioneers of classical mathematical economists as a chaotic state...
متن کاملSpin-Exchange in Hydrogen-Antihydrogen Collisions
We consider the spin-exchange in ultracold collisions of hydrogen (H) and antihydrogen (H̄) atoms. The cross sections for transitions between various hyperfine states are calculated. We show that the process of spin exchange in H̄ − H collisions is basically driven by the strong force between proton and antiproton, that spin-exchange cross-sections are proportional to the difference of singlet an...
